Board Liaison
Stewardship Manager at the Trustees of Reservations Notchview Reservation for over 30 years, Masters degree from Yale Forestry School, Master Forester and Land Manager, Local Historian and Educator, Nordic skier. Developed a forest management plan for Notchview that highlights climate change adaptations for Boreal forests. Committee member representing Windsor, MA with the Westfield Wild and Scenic River Association.
Peter Scherff (Haydenville/Cummington) Board Chair
Founder and Director of Arunah Hill Natural Science Center in Cummington, MA; former Co-Owner and Manager of the Student Prince Café & Fort Restaurant in Springfield, MA for over 30 years; Outdoor Astronomy Guide, international travels researching and presenting about meteorites and meteorite sites, photographer and a skilled artist and founder of “Out of this World” Jewelry.
Paul G Niadek (Pittsfield)
Over 30 years experience in finance, organizational development and logistics with a BS in chemical engineering and MBA in logistics and operations. Consultant, volunteer and logistics coordinator w/ many Berkshire county institutions: Tanglewood, The Trustees, Hike with Healers, Falcon Ridge Folk Fest, Berkshire International Film Fest and the Norman Rockwell Museum. Conservationist, Artist and summited Mt Shasta (one of the seven sacred mountains in world at 14,179ft)

Tamarack Hollow Nature & Cultural Center Co-Founder, Clerk, Trails & Intern Coordinator, Fundraiser Assistant and Educational Assistant. Dan leads our Senior Center Drum Programs. He is a master Lazure Painting Artist having painted with Color Space for over 15 years and a guitar and drum instructor and a music and cultural educator with Tamarack Hollow. Member of Gaia Roots World Music Ensemble, Trio Candela Latin Music Ensemble and former member of the Windsor Historical Commission.
Vicki Zacharewicz, (Pittsfield)
Kripalu Certified Mindful Outdoor Experiences Guide. BS in Business Communications, AAS in Graphic Design. Former positions include Parish Administrator at Zion Lutheran Church and St. Andrews Church, Stamford CT, Production Manager at Franklin Spier Advertising and Traffic Manager at Heartland Music in New York, NY. Past President & board member of the Hubbard Heights Neighborhood Association.
*Aimee is also a certified CyberTracker Wildlife Tracking Guide, a certified Canoe instructor, a Lifeguard and certified in Wilderness First Aid. She recently earned a certificate from the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine in Foraging and Herbal Plant Medicine.
Noel Staples-Freeman (Pittsfield)
Cultural Ambassador
Founder and Director of Uprising Dance Theater since 1983. Master West African and Caribbean dancer, educator and performance artist for 5 decades. B.S. in Children’s Theater/Performing Arts from Emerson College and graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine COHERE program integrating dance and holistic healthcare. Member of the Art of Black Dance and Music and Gaia Roots World Music Ensemble. Noel is an educator with Tamarack Hollow and at Springfield College, Jacob’s Pillow, CATA, OLLI at BCC, Berkshire Pulse and more. Recently accepted into the Blackshires Leadership Accelerator program.
